Do you know what season you are in?
Answering this question can be difficult, disappointing, or even disheartening. Sometimes life feels too confusing, and we can feel pulled in to many different directions. Other times, we do know our season, but it is not what we want. This is when our patience gets put to the test. Even seasons of relaxation can become disheartening when we spend too much time alone and struggle to progress or grow out of it. This period of waiting is important - but we are not required to do it alone.
One book specifically helped me to really understand my season of spiritual growth. Jessie Cruickshank wrote a brilliant and engaging book called Ordinary Discipleship. Here she outlines 7 steps of growth she calls the "Hero's Journey". Her insights are inspiring, wise, and challenging to say the least. She gives very practical steps to help the reader grow both personally, and in ways for encouraging others along their journeys.
One of the services we offer at Rebuilding Ministries is Spiritual Direction. We want to help you discern your journey, and the season you are in. We want to help you explore questions like - Do you know which season you're in? What you are learning? How you're meant to be growing?
Whether you need answers, encouragement, reassurance, or practical steps, we want to walk with you. We are not designed to grow alone. Jesus wants to be with us in our journeys, and sometimes that looks like direct hearing from Him, other times that's hearing from Him through the words of others.
Take a few moments and ask Jesus - what is He telling you about your current season? What encouragement does he have for you today?
